Beat the Bully

Is Your Child Being Bullied?

Bullying is a serious issue in today's society.  More and more of our youth carry various types of weaponry to school, school functions, after school programs, parties, etc. for fear of being bullied.  Most times, these children are armed with weapons they really don't know how to use, and end up getting the weapon turned on them!

If you still don't think bullying is a problem, check the facts.  According to BullyTrap.com:

  • " 8% of ALL school children are bullied each week
  • 90% of all students say they have been bullied
  • 22% of school children say their grades were severely affected because of bullying

  • 20% of all students say they spend most of their time at school in fear of bullies
  • 20% of high school students areafraid to use the washroom for fear of being bullied
  • 10% of school dropouts do so because of their fear of bullying

  • 160,000 students miss school each day because of bullying
  • Almost 70% of bullying victims say their school does nothing to help them "
  •

Though most parents are thinking and/or have probably thought, "that doesn't happen to my child," the reality is, it could be your child because bullying is everywhere.  Your child could be getting bullied at school, work, camp, church, on the way home from school, on the bus, etc.

Here Are Some Questions You May Want to Ask Yourself

    1. Do I really know that my child isn't being bullied?
    2. Have I ever asked my child if he/she was being bullied?
    3. Would my child feel comfortable telling if he/she was being bullied?
    4. If my child is being bullied, what would I do?
